Our Veterinarian
Currently a clinical team of one, Garvey Vets’ services are provided by Dr Jack Garvey MRCVS who works as the principle veterinarian and company director.
Jack graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2021 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine and Science, he then went on to complete the Graduate Development Programme with the Peoples Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA).
In his own time, Jack enjoys open water swimming, field hockey, and is a founding member of Sutton Coldfield Adventure Unit, where he still volunteers on Fridays when available.
Our Practice Manager
Dr Elizabeth Garvey studied for her BSc in Biology at Aberystwyth University, during which she recruited and led a fundraising team to climb Mt Kilimanjaro for the clean water charity Dig Deep. She then went on to the University of Nottingham to complete a Master’s degree in Immunology and Microbiology, and received her PhD in Microbiology in 2025 for her research into antimicrobial resistance. Along with husband Jack, she helped set up Garvey Vets in May 2025, and now works to manage the practice and perform the laboratory diagnostics.
She has always had a soft spot for animals, and grew up with rabbits, budgies, and gerbils as pets. Currently she shares in the Garvey menagerie of four dogs, three rabbits and two cats. She enjoys fibre arts such as cross stitch and needle felting, and has a keen interest in geology and pretty rocks!

When it is time to say goodbye, we know you want to make this difficult decision where you and your beloved companion are most comfortable. If you feel that is at home, we can help you. Should you also wish, we can provide either communal or individual cremation services as well.
